Saturday October 5Uzès esplanade will be very lively for Carers’ Day. A meeting for which the organizers have put “all their energy and all their joy of living”smiles Corinne Costa, from the Adao association. Around the theme “Self-recognition of caregivers”, eight days are organized in Gard. “This is a very important issue which is also the subject of a new state campaignglided Corinne Costa. In France, one in two caregivers is unaware…”.
In Gard, the Departmental Council is working on a Autonomy diagram which results in the creation ofResource spacesone of which should see the light of day in Uzège in November. “All the partners work on it so it also allowed us to organize the caregivers’ day”.

So, every month, meetings were held in different places in the territory, including the Uzès hospital and the Mas-Careiron with the idea of working better together. “This created bridges between the different actors”rejoices Corinne Costa. But it was not only professionals who developed the program for this day of October 5… “It was co-constructed with caregivers who were able to express what really matters to them”.
Mix the useful with the festive
The result? A full day of information and activities for caregivers. “This will take place for the first time on the Uzès esplanade! It is a place of passage, on market day, which will raise awareness among all comers”. More than 50 stands are intended to provide information on financial and administrative assistancelsupport and home carethe field of aging, the field of disability and relaxation.
New this year, those receiving assistance will be able to be welcomed at the relay space, where workshops led by professionals are planned, providing the opportunity for those receiving assistance to participate in activities.
On the program
As part of the carers’ daysof September 17 to November 5activities are organized throughout the department and information offered for caregivers. In Uzès, the meeting is set for Saturday October 5 on the esplanade. In order to help people who daily support emotionally, physically and logistically a member of their family, a friend or a dependent, elderly or disabled relative, an entire day is dedicated to them.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., information standsrelaxation workshops (free) with art therapywriting, naturotherapyrelaxation and others… Lion’s club refreshment bar and slam entertainment with Nomis.
In the morning, at 10 a.m., musical coffee welcome Y’a dl’a joie. From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Hip hip hop, chorale La Fenestrelle. From 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., official speech followed by a musical aperitif with Y’a dl’a joie.
In the afternoon, the entertainment will continue. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., concert with Faustine and the legs followed from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. by the cists choir and the show “One evening in Vienna”.
A day which will end from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a clown theater, a collective dance and a raffle. At the Relay Space, reception and workshops are provided for the loved ones being helped while the caregivers participate in activities. There will also be the Lions club refreshment bar and slam with Nomis all day long.
