Fatim-Zahra Ammor highlights the Kingdom’s tourism ambition on the international scene in Dubai

The Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, led a large delegation made up of institutional players and private operators to the “Future Hospitality Summit” exhibition in Dubai, thus marking the Kingdom’s strong commitment to the tourism sector.

Speaking on the theme “Balancing growth: integrating tourism into the development of government policies to combat overtourism and other major challenges”, the minister highlighted the remarkable performance of the Moroccan tourism sector, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, indicates a press release from the supervisory department.

She also highlighted the key factors of this success, including the government’s targeted investments in the sector and Morocco’s exemplary resilience in the face of challenges.

Furthermore, Ms. Ammor presented Morocco’s bold vision aiming to welcome 26 million tourists in 2030, based on a holistic development approach, placing the Royal Social State project as the basis of economic growth.

The minister also discussed the 2023-2026 roadmap, as well as the preparation of the co-organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, particularly with regard to the development plan for road, airport and hotel infrastructure, in addition to investment priorities in accommodation capacity and entertainment, and incentives available to support investors.

“Morocco benefits from exceptional momentum, combining record performances, a clear vision, an operational roadmap with the necessary investments and the prospect of the 2030 World Cup,” said Ms. Ammor, quoted in the press release.

Investment opportunities are numerous, with hospitality as the priority, she added, noting that it is for this reason that participation in the Future Hospitality Summit is crucial to present these opportunities to international investors.

On the sidelines of this conclave, the minister led a series of meetings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, including a bilateral meeting with Mr. Abdullah Bin Touq Al-Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, also in charge of tourism, as well as working meetings with international investors, in the presence of Mr. Imad Barrakad, Director General of the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT).

Among the groups met are major players in the hospitality industry, such as Ascott Limited, Marriott, Hilton, Al Habtoor Group, ADNH, ADNEC and the Al Mula Group.

Finally, and with a view to the future amusement park planned in Marrakech, the minister spoke with the Managing Director of the Miral group, specializing in the investment and management of amusement parks.

On this occasion, she visited the four emblematic parks of Abu Dhabi, namely Warner Bros, SeaWorld, Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld in order to observe best practices in the sector, the press release concluded.
