Public transport, a hunting ground for perverts. A 34-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning at the Pyrénées metro station (20th century), while he was filming under women’s skirts. It was around 7:35 a.m. that an off-duty police officer spotted his curious behavior. “The thirty-year-old was surprised when he slipped his phone under the skirt of a passenger,” according to a source close to the case. The police officer caught him in the act, arrested him before calling his colleagues.
The man was taken care of by officials from the regional transport security (SRT) before being placed in police custody at the police station. “It’s unfortunately a fairly common phenomenon,” underlines an official. In transport, there is at least one case per week. And what’s more, these deviances affect all categories of the population. We even had a retired police commissioner.” Just last week, on September 25, 2024 at Lyon station, another suspect was arrested. In the TGV coming from Montélimar, a victim had reported the facts to a controller and the suspect was arrested on the platform when he got off the train.
Women victims of sexual harassment
