Isère. A scooter rider seriously injured after a collision with a heavy goods vehicle in Champagnier

National road 85 was closed to traffic, in the Vizille- direction, this Wednesday afternoon for about an hour to allow emergency services to intervene after a serious accident that occurred around 3:30 p.m. near Champagnier.

A 40-year-old man, who was riding a scooter, was very seriously injured after an impact with a heavy goods vehicle which was traveling in the same direction as him.

Did the scooterist swerve on the roadway when the truck passed him, hitting his side, which destabilized him and caused him to fall? Or did the truck driver squeeze the scooter driver too close to the point of jostling him?

This is what the gendarmes from the Departmental Road Safety Squadron (EDSR) of Isère, who carried out the findings with the support of their colleagues from the La Mure company, will have to determine.

They cannot, at this stage, trust the testimony of the driver of the truck, the latter having continued on his way, perhaps without even realizing that he had hit the scooter rider.

Seriously injured, the latter was rescued by firefighters and a team from Samu 38 before being taken to Grenoble Alpes University Hospital where he was admitted to the unloading department. His vital prognosis was then in jeopardy.
