Tourism: Investment opportunities offered in Morocco presented in Dubai

The various investment opportunities offered by Morocco in the tourism sector were reviewed on Tuesday in Dubai by the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor.

Morocco works through several mechanisms to stimulate and attract investments in the field of accommodation and leisure, in accordance with the Roadmap adopted to develop the tourism sector, she observed to a group of foreign investors during the “Future Hospitality Summit World”.

Morocco has set ambitious objectives to promote the tourism, hotel, leisure and accommodation sector, notably by strengthening the sector’s infrastructure in order to achieve the objective of attracting 26 million tourists from here 2030, the year which coincides with the organization by the Kingdom of the Football World Cup with Spain and Portugal, added the minister, specifying that the tourism sector has reached record figures both in terms of arrivals tourists than foreign exchange income.

Given its various assets, the Kingdom of Morocco is one of the best tourist investment destinations in the world, also noted Ms. Ammor who leads a delegation to this Congress, including the general director of the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), Imad Bergad, and SMIT’s director of investment development, Younes Hajoui.

The ministry is currently engaged in the development of several thematic and horizontal channels to promote the country’s tourism sector, as well as in the promotion of investment through several mechanisms, including the new Investment Charter and the SMIT, a- she pointed out.

The Moroccan government is determined to develop the tourism sector in all its forms and branches and to make the Kingdom one of the best destinations for tourism and leisure, something which will also contribute to job creation, he said. , noted Ms. Ammor.

The “Future Hospitality Summit World”, in which government officials, experts and professionals from the hospitality sector take part, addresses several themes, such as the concepts of sustainability, the development of tourist destinations, investment opportunities in Middle East region, developments in hotel investments, health programs, environmental, social and corporate governance, entrepreneurship, as well as issues related to risk management.

Conference participants also delved into regional investment trends, hospitality sector prospects in Africa, Europe and the Gulf region, with particular emphasis on the prospects of the future of technology in this sector. They will also examine issues relating to health and wellbeing, asset management, and entrepreneurship and creativity.

The conference was also marked by the organization of the semi-finals of the “Women in Technology” competition, an event initiated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, with a view to highlighting the growing role and center for women in the Middle East hospitality sector. This competition aims to promote female entrepreneurship and the most innovative start-ups led by women and using technology in the field of tourism.

The Future Hospitality Summit World provides a key strategic platform to strengthen professional relationships, drive innovation and shape the future of hospitality investments, while providing an opportunity for industry professionals to showcase their leadership and expertise.
