LFI announces the exclusion of one of its activists in Loire-Atlantique, after his indictment for rape of a little girl

Indicted on Monday September 30 for rape of a 4-year-old girl, a 32-year-old family assistant was excluded on Wednesday from La France insoumise, a movement for which he had been a candidate in the departmental elections in 2021. After having “discovered this with horror”the national coordinator of LFI, Manuel Bompard, announced to Agence France-Presse that “this person was excluded this morning from La France insoumise”.

The 32-year-old man, a trained caregiver and until then unknown to the police, had been approved by Child Welfare since 1^is December 2023. A little girl, presenting a “serious handicap”had been placed at his home since December 2023.

Placed in police custody after a report from Europol, he admitted rape and sexual assault on the little girl, according to the Nantes public prosecutor, Renaud Gaudeul. He was indicted on Monday and imprisoned for “rape with acts of torture or barbarity” and sexual assault on the little girl and also for recording and disseminating images of a child pornography nature, said Mr. Gaudeul.

Arrest in Tunisia

The latter specified that “Dutch investigators in Europe have notified” September 11 ” their French counterparts that they had identified images, circulating on certain messaging services, in which the author spoke in French.

Identified by investigators while he was staying in Tunisia for vacation, the family assistant was arrested on September 23 upon his return to France. The Loire-Atlantique department expressed Monday in a press release its « consternation »specifying that it had carried out a “double control” of his criminal record.
