La insoumise excludes an activist indicted for rape of a little girl

The family assistant indicted in -Atlantique for rape of a 4-year-old girl, was excluded on Wednesday October 2 from Insoumise, the party for which he had been a candidate in the departmental elections in 2021, we learned with LFI.

“We discovered this with horror. This person was excluded this morning from La France insoumise”LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard told AFP, confirming information from Ouest-France.

A trained caregiver and involved in local community life, unknown to the police, the 32-year-old man had been approved by Child Welfare since December 1, 2023.

A little girl, presenting a “heavy handicap”had been placed at his home since December 2023.

Placed in police custody after a report from Europol, he admitted rape and sexual assault on the little girl, according to the public prosecutor, Renaud Gaudeul.

“Acts of torture or barbarity”

He was indicted at the end of September and imprisoned for “rape with acts of torture or barbarity” and sexual assault on the little girl and also for recording and disseminating images of a child pornography nature, said Mr. Gaudeul

“On September 11, Dutch investigators from Europol informed their French counterparts that they had identified images, circulating on certain messaging services, in which the author spoke in French”the prosecutor explained during a press conference on Monday.

The file was immediately entrusted to the Minors Office (Ofmin). Identified by investigators while he was staying in Tunisia for vacation, the family assistant was arrested on September 23 upon his return to France.

The Loire-Atlantique department expressed Monday in a press release its “consternation”specifying that it had carried out in particular a “double control” of his criminal record.
