The 1st Olympics of the IUT of Moselle-Est took place yesterday. The IUT is 4 different departments in 3 cities: Sarreguemines, Forbach and Saint-Avold. At the start of the school year, students from 1era year competed around sporting events in Sarreguemines.
Sound No. 1 – 165 students from the IUT of Moselle-Est compete during the 1st Olympics
Some are in the middle of an ultimate match, others are competing in basketball… There is also badminton and even wrestling. A day full of sport for many young people. Mélanie Muller and Henri Vahapi worked hard to organize this great competition.
-There are 165 students who are today divided into 7 teams to carry out sporting activities.
-It is to bring sports values, to make students want to play sports. We have the university’s Suaps service which is present and promotes sport and health
On the athletics side, one of the teams has just finished the 15 minutes of running around the stadium. Vicky and Laura, in 1era year of chemistry at Saint-Avold, have a good time.
-Well it’s a good idea, it allows you to meet all the IUT students. Around sport it brings people together well in fact
-And then with a little competitive spirit it’s quite funny!

We’re a pretty good team, in ultimate we won almost everything, we arrived here we were… very tired!

It’s great, already because young people don’t do enough sport, maybe this will give them a taste! And then the fact of mixing the departments and even the fact that there are teachers who come is quite nice. I always tend to order but hey, that’s professional distortion!
