The Kings, with Marc Bergevin, have arrived in Quebec (and here’s what they will do this week)

The big guns of the Los Angeles Kings, including Anze Kopitar, Quinton Byfield and Philip Danault, landed at Jean-Lesage airport in Quebec on Tuesday around 6:15 p.m., approximately 48 hours before the first of their two preparatory games at the Videotron Center . And among the passengers on board, there was a certain Marc Bergevin.

The former general manager of the Montreal Canadiens is now special advisor to CEO Rob Blake and his presence in the Old Capital is therefore not surprising. He will therefore have the opportunity to check with his own eyes whether the team’s preparation for the season is up to par.

For their two meetings in Quebec, the Kings will rely on almost complete lineups, which is not surprising, since these are their last before starting the regular schedule.

The Kings will, however, be without the services of their veteran blue line, Drew Doughty, not only for Thursday’s games against the Boston Bruins and Saturday against the Florida Panthers, but for a good part of the season.

The 34-year-old fractured his ankle during a preseason game against the Vegas Golden Knights last Wednesday. His season would not be over, but he would have to miss several months of activities.

The Kings will remain in Quebec from Tuesday to Saturday. They will then head to Charlevoix, where they will stay a few days before the start of the regular season.
