Mobility: north and south of the country agree on the principle of a road sticker

The Walloon government has said it wants to set up a digital sticker. This weekend, he was joined by the new Flemish government which displays the same desire. The Regions must now work together to implement a system which will apply to foreign cars using the Belgian road network.

EAre we witnessing an unprecedented alignment of the stars? An old antiphon that has resurfaced periodically for more than twenty years, the introduction of a (auto)road sticker is making a comeback on the Belgian political scene. While the ink on the agreement of the new Flemish government N-VA-Vooruit-CD&V signed this weekend is barely dry, the Minister of Mobility, Annick De Ridder (N-VA), indicated this Monday that the establishment of such a system a priority. The Flemish government already expects 130 million euros in annual revenue from 2027.
