At 22, Flavien Termet, the youngest deputy in the Assembly, resigns for medical reasons

He was the youngest member of this chamber. Two and a half months after the legislative elections, Flavien Termet announces his resignation from his post as parliamentarian.

Member of Parliament for the first constituency of the Ardennes and elected in the first round of the legislative elections on July 7, Flavien Termet is already putting an end to his mandate.

As noted the Huffington Postquoting a Facebook post from the young elected official, the RN deputy announces “with a heavy heart”remove the scarf. “This mandate was full of promises and be sure that if I make this painful decision, it is because I am forced to do so.”

New elections to come

If he does not go into details, he does however mention “personal, medical reasons”. He specifies that “this resignation is not an abandonment” and promises that his party, the National Rally, will present a new candidate in the constituency in which he was elected.

Cadet of the hemicycle, Flavien Termet stood out during the vote to appoint the President of the Assembly. As the youngest, he was designated as assessor and stood next to the ballot box to ensure the smooth running of the vote. Many voting deputies then refused to shake his hand, due to his membership of the extreme right.

With the resignation of Flavien Termet, MP Hanane Mansouri, 23, elected Ciottist in Isère, becomes the youngest elected official in the National Assembly.
