A rich program for Alzheimer Gers in Lectoure

the essential
These last few days have been full of events for the Alzheimer association in Lectoure.

World Alzheimer’s Day at the sports hall was an opportunity to bring together a large number of members. Jean-Marc Pinaud, president of France Alzheimer Gers, was present and Serge Mauro, songwriter from Lectoure, opened the day with the reading of a poignant poem about the disease. The elected officials responded and showed their support for this cause by taking part in the association’s presentation speech with the participation of Christiane Chicard, vice-president of the association, Ms. Chaput, volunteer, Virginie Loir, psychologist, and by Doctor Isabelle Ballenghein.

Created in 1985, France Alzheimer is the only national association of families recognized as being of public utility in the field of Alzheimer’s disease. Present since 1988 in the Gers region, it continues to support caregivers on a daily basis with memory cafés, caregiver training, conviviality activities and on-call services.

The association is accessible to all so that everyone can obtain information and support.

The following Tuesday, the memory café was held on the theme of stress management. The goal was to define stress, its consequences and how to regulate it through numerous techniques and tools.

The next memory café in Lectoure will be held on Tuesday October 29 and will have the theme “Siel Bleu”, an association for the mobility of the elderly. Registration with Christiane Chicard, France Alzheimer volunteer (at 06.45.97.77.26) or Virginie Loir, psychologist at the respite platform (at 05.62.64.90.33).
