Precarious calm after calls for migration to Sebta

Following new calls on social media for a mass migration to occupied Ceuta, Fnideq authorities ensured that absolute calm was maintained throughout the night. Thanks to a reinforced security deployment, the situation remained under control, and the border now operates in complete tranquility.

Following recent calls broadcast on social networks inciting a collective migration to occupied Ceuta, the security authorities in the town of Fnideq had to step up their vigilance and spent a sleepless night. All main roads leading to the border and their surroundings have been strictly monitored by Moroccan security forces, in order to prevent any attempted intrusion across the border barrier separating Ceuta from the rest of Morocco.

These calls, although their source remains unknown, have aroused great concern among local authorities, especially since they echo similar events in the past, where crowds of migrants attempted to cross the border en masse. border. The reinforced presence of various police and security units was intended to guarantee the maintenance of public order and prevent any excesses that could result from these calls to illegally cross the border.

Indeed, during the night from Sunday to Monday, a strong mobilization of security forces, in collaboration with local authorities, was observed on all the roads leading to the border post. This operation aimed not only to prevent any unauthorized acts, but also to secure the area against possible attempts at disruption.

This morning, the border post between occupied Ceuta and Fnideq returned to normal operation, with a usual flow of people and vehicles, despite the increased vigilance of local authorities. Thus, traffic, both for pedestrians and vehicles, proceeded normally, as during the week, under reinforced control by police patrols. The authorities, however, remain on alert, aware of the need to prevent any new attempt at collective crossing, while these calls continue to circulate on social networks.
