The First Nations expedition in documentary on Radio-Canada

TELEVISION. Radio-Canada will present a documentary on the First Nations Expedition which took place last year. Lasting 52 minutes, the documentary entitled “3500 km of shared trails” will be broadcast this evening at 11 p.m., and it will also be available on the ICI TOU.TV platform.

This documentary, produced by Terre Innue Production IV Inc., was produced in 2024 during the second First Nations Expedition. The objective of this expedition is to pay tribute to the children of Indian residential schools, to the murdered and missing indigenous women, to Joyce Echaquan as well as to the children who were taken from their families at birth, of whom we have lost track.

“As a founding member of the First Nations Expedition, I am very proud to see that our work of reconciliation continues to be heard following our recent expedition in February 2024. Reconciliation is a long-term process, and this documentary is a unique opportunity for all Canadians to reflect, learn and participate in this journey,” expresses Christian Flamand, founding member of the First Nations Expedition.

“I am extremely proud of this film, my team and the participants. A film in which we truly reconcile, with men and women who are not afraid of their emotions. An adventure of 3,500 km of shared trails, where complicity, laughter and tears accompany us from start to finish. A spiritual journey to the heart of individual and collective consciences”, Kim O’bomsawin, president of Terre Innue Production IV Inc. and director of 3,500 km of shared trails.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Shirt Day, is observed annually on September 30 to honor survivors of residential schools, their families and their communities. It aims to remind everyone of the importance of recognizing past injustices and working together for a more just and equitable future.
