Kaffrine, September 30 (APS) – The mayor of Kaffrine (center), Abdoulaye Saydou Sow, plans to set up a football academy for the training of young talents, we learned from his chief of staff, Sheikh Ndao.
“For the training of the small category, Mayor Abdoulaye Saydou Sow intends to create an academy for the training of young” talents from the capital of Ndoucoumane, he announced Sunday on the sidelines of the final of the Kaffrine Mayor’s Cup .
This academy will be assigned the objective of “nurturing talents and putting them on the sports market”, indicated the chief of staff of the councilor of Kaffrine.
Sports players and several other personalities from Ndoucoumane were part of the public who attended this final played in the presence of the first deputy mayor, Moustapha Diop.
The trophy at stake was won by the Sports and Cultural Association (ASC) “The Stars”, defeating ASC Deggo Bokk Diom, 2-0.
The winner received an envelope of three million CFA francs, compared to two million for his opponent of the day, in addition to sets of jerseys and competition balls for both teams.
“This year, we are going to further strengthen the sports infrastructure, and we have started it with the multifunctional stadium under construction and another whose work is almost completed,” said Cheikh Ndao.
A multifunctional site will be built in the Millennial City district, he said, adding that subsidies intended for the municipality’s ASCs have also seen “a considerable increase”, without giving further details.
