Carpooling sometimes has surprises. Not always good. A follower of BlaBlaCar was sentenced by the Versailles court to two years in prison, including one year suspended on Monday September 30, 2024. The firm party was subject to immediate incarceration.
Aged 38, this woman from Guyana was stopped by customs at the Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines tollbooth, on the A10, six days earlier. During a routine check, a heat-sealed bag in another heat-sealed bag delivered a precious cargo: 1.104 kg of cocaine. The market value was estimated at 39,990 euros.
She worked for the King
During her auditions, the conveyor explained that she was acting for a certain King, a man with whom she fell in love on social networks. “He’s from Suriname. We met once during a trip to Guyana,” she relates.
It is at this moment, then via Snapchatthat the King first asked him to make money transfers. Then transporting drugs. When she was arrested, she was having a long affair. Leaving her home in Dijon (Côte-d’Or – dep. 21), she went to Athis-Mons (Essonne – dep. 91), then to Angers (Maine-et-Loire – dep. 49). She then had to pass through Paris before returning home.
“I had to drop off the drugs in Angers and then leave. But the sale did not go through. So, I had to bring it back. I had confidence. We were starting a relationship. I was the good pawn. »
From this mission, the thirty-year-old hoped to get between 2,000 and 3,000 euros, enough to relieve the family finances. Mother of four children aged 5 to 19, she does not work. She receives 1,600 euros in social assistance and spends 800 euros on expenses.
When she leaves detention, she will also have to pay the amount of customs fine: 39 990 euros.
