The Region and the Football Club (TÉFÉCÉ) organized this Sunday at the Stadium on the sidelines of the TÉFÉCÉ-OL league 1 match a time to celebrate regional Olympic and Paralympic athletes. With 30 medals in total during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, regional athletes have left their mark and made the whole of Occitania proud with their exceptional performances.

At the end of the match, the president of the Occitanie Region Carole Delga, alongside Kamel Chibli, vice-president in charge of Education, Youth and Sports, and Damien Comolli, president of TÉFÉCÉ, welcomed on the lawn of the Stadium in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) around thirty Olympic and Paralympic athletes from Occitanie (see list below) to celebrate their exploits. Carole Delga also wanted to pay tribute to Brice Taton, a Toulouse supporter who died tragically 15 years ago, while recalling the importance of tolerance, solidarity and sharing in football and more generally in sport.

« With Damien Comolli, we we wanted to organize this time of celebration to thank our champions for all the emotions provided this summer, to pay tribute to their work and their talent. If Occitania were a country, it would have ranked in the top 12 in the world ahead of Spain and Sweden! Our athletes showed in the world what our territory is a breeding ground of champions. Celebrating our athletes alongside the TFC, a club which embodies the values of collective effort and excellence, shows the importance of the links between high-level sport and the training clubs in our territories. » declared the president of the Occitanie Region Carole Delga.
