The Mohammed VI Foundation for the reintegration of detainees organized, on Sunday, a multidisciplinary medical caravan for the benefit of detainees at the local prison of Al Hoceima.
This initiative, carried out in partnership with the local prison, the prefecture of Al Hoceima, the provincial delegation of Health and social protection of Al Hoceima, the university hospital center of Tangier, the council of the Tangier-Tetouan region Al-Hoceima, and several civil society actors, under the theme “Strengthening the health offer, an entry point for reintegration”, is part of the attention paid by the Foundation to the health of prisoners and their social reintegration.
According to the regional coordinator of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the reintegration of detainees in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Mohamed El Mkadmi, nearly 200 detainees benefited from the services of this medical caravan in various specialties, including cardiology, pulmonology, psychiatry, dermatology, ophthalmology, endocrinology and urology.
A medical and paramedical team made up of around 14 specialist doctors, as well as several health professionals, supervised this caravan, during which numerous services were offered to this category of society, he said, highlighting before the efforts made to provide the necessary medicines and equipment, in order to guarantee the success of this caravan from Tangier.
The caravan “took place in a smooth and orderly manner, and was well received by the inmates of the establishment,” he insisted.
