Sometimes all it takes is one detail to uncover a vast outlaw system. Five people were arrested on September 26 in Yvelines as part of an investigation opened for “organized gang fraud, money laundering and criminal associations”. Three of them were imprisoned. The case begins in December 2022, when agents of the Brigade for the Repression of Banditry of the PJ of are on the trail of a man “linked to a team of criminals specializing in the importation of narcotics”relates the national police in a video shared on X.

The investigations then focus on the vehicle he uses, “registered in his name”. The starting point of a thread that the investigators will trace little by little. “After careful examination of his bank accounts, the police discovered that the car was financed by suspicious payments from a training company”continues the national police. Except that this entity, which received 450,000 euros from the Caisse des Dépôts et de Consignation, does not exist. At least 122 fake companies have been identified by Tracfin, the intelligence service placed under the authority of the Ministry of the Economy, “in order to receive credits from the Professional Training Account system”.

“Certain accomplices recruited on social networks are paid 10% of the amount received by the training company”specifies the national police who estimate the amount of the overall fraud at 31 million euros. Part of the money was then laundered “to buy narcotics”. False associations for people with disabilities have also been created. Almost two years after the start of the investigation, the investigations are still ongoing.
