Morocco partners with an Indian group to produce combat vehicles

Morocco and the Indian company, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), a subsidiary of the international conglomerate Tata Group, have sealed a strategic partnership aimed at the local production of the WhAP 8×8 land combat vehicle.


This strategic investment agreement provides for a system of financial, tax and customs incentives.

The project aims to meet the needs of demand and those of external markets, echoing the ambition of Morocco and TASL to jointly develop South-South cooperation links and a regional hub for the production of defense mobility equipment .

This project places Morocco at the center of attention as a development pole in the defense industry and opens promising prospects for investors interested in the defense and high technology sectors.

The implementation of the project is planned within a maximum period of thirty-six months with a local integration rate of 35%, which should then be increased to 50% and will result in the creation of 90 direct and 250 indirect jobs. .

Investors can expect a promising outlook, driven by growing demand for defense vehicles and TASL’s involvement in an integrated production model. This strategy benefits from the advantages of efficient local sourcing and the availability of a qualified workforce, the press release concludes.
