It’s a back-to-school cold shower for T1 tram users. From Sunday September 29, 2024, traffic will be interrupted between Normadie-Niémen Squadron has and the terminus, the Gare de Noisy-le-Sec station. No tram will run on this section until Monday March 31, 2025. In question: the construction of a new regulation station at the station Pablo-Picasso in Bobigny.

Extension of the line

This project takes place within the framework of extension from the line to Val-de-Fontenay (Val-de-), planned forhorizon 2029. “The line will be very long, even longer than today and this station will be necessary to be able to catch up with any delays,” explains Florence Bazin-Bodeau, project manager at RATP.

This new station, built a few meters from the already existing one, will be of length of 110 meters in order to enable it to accommodate up to three trams per track. “It allows us to move the trams forward and wait at the station,” explains Florence Bazin-Bodeau.

Replacement buses

In total, two and a half years of work are necessary. Started in March 2023, they will enter a new phase this fall, requiring the partial interruption of traffic. “We anticipated as much as possible what could be done to reduce nuisance as much as possible,” she continues. A site made difficult with the constraint of having to let the trains pass every evening who go to the Bobigny maintenance and storage site.

This cut is also an opportunity for RATP to initiate works on the eight other stations closed. “We are massing the work to avoid having to make several interruptions,” explains Denis Girard, project management manager for RATP. Throughout their duration, replacement buses “at the same operating interval as the tramway” will be put in place.
