A new cultural program at the Notre-Dame Center

Around fifteen events and activities now appear on the Granby Cultural and Community Life (VCC) website, at the helm of this project. A good part of the necessary budget comes from surpluses generated by the paramunicipal organization.

The CND programming (also for “culture, novelties and discoveries”) will therefore officially begin from October 25 to 27 with the L’Immortel improvisation tournament, where victories and defeats make it possible to “resuscitate” or “eliminate” players.

A sign that we are targeting a wide audience, the list includes a Halloween ball for children (November 1), a video game fair (November 9), a craft fair (November 22 to 24) and a circus show (March 1).

In all likelihood, the Granby Book Fair will also find itself under the responsibility of VCC. Remember that the first version was directly organized by the City.

The ensembles of the Harmonie de Granby, which is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year, will offer no less than seven concerts along the way.

“The idea is not to compete with anyone by programming artists known throughout Quebec. We are really more into innovation. We hope that people will bet on paying ten dollars to come and see something that will transport them and make them think,” explained Jean-Olivier Grégoire Fillion, head of culture and events for VCC.

In fact, a new system has been developed for selling various tickets online. There are three levels: regular rate, contributor rate ($5 more) and accessible rate ($5 less). You have undoubtedly understood that we are talking here about a communicating vessel.

“It’s a “pay it forward” type concept, for those who can afford it,” summarized VCC director Valérie Brodeur.

For those who don’t want to wait, many activities are offered in the region this weekend as part of the Culture Days.
