Asther’s shop, the multi-service commerce of Bernieres-le-Patry (Valdallière), in , is preparing its future.

Since June 21, 2024, manager Astrid Klaczynski has been in tiling with Sabrina Anger, her future successor: they work together so that the handover trade is done as best as possible.

As Sabrina says, “this allows clients to get used to me and Astrid to accompany me. I learn lots of things, I thank them a lot, her and Hervé, Astrid’s husband. »

This makes 10 years that Astrid and Hervé took this business, before the latter also took over the FDJ bar-tabac grocery store in Montsecret, in 2019.

We’ve been looking to sell for a good year, the fact that Sabrina came to us is a godsend. Astrid wants to stop and relax because the business is very busy and we have very little time to ourselves.

After the sale to Bernières, Astrid Klaczynski will only be an employee at Montsecret and will be able to help her husband. However, it is with a small pang in the heart that she is going to leave her clients.

A village resident to take over

Originally from Lassy (Terres de Druance), Sabrina Anger, 30 years old, is herself inhabitant from Bernières-le-Patry. After studying CAP sales, she worked in the personal assistance service at ADMRand a few years in the factory.

With her husband, they bought a house in Bernières. The idea of having a business was already working on her.

It tempted me, I already had the idea, but I found myself too young and my daughter was too little. I was 20 years old and wanted to broaden my professional experience. In October 2023, I learned that Astrid and Hervé wanted to sell, I was on a temporary basis at the time and my daughter was grown up so I decided to go for it.

When her fixed-term contract ended on May 31, she was then able to launch herself into the projectaccompanied by Cerfrance and the Chamber of Commerce of Calvados in all procedures. As a woman, the association Active was also able to help him because it guarantees the loan at the bank level.

Some new features planned

Thanks to the town hall, owner of the walls, a wall will be opened to separate the grocery store from the bar. With this enlargement from the bar, Sabrina will suggest a snackingon order at the beginning. There will always be the deposit of breadthe point job, the grocery storeTHE barTHE gas and the FDJ. Sabina keeps the same services.

Everyone is convinced that “grocery shopping remains the heart of the communityit became the pillar.” François Hamel, deputy mayor of Bernières-le-Patry, and Michel Bacon, first deputy, attach great importance to it.

The survival of our villages depends on it.

Sabrina also plans to deliver bread every day to the Viessoix school and twice a week fruit. “We need a circular economy,” recalls François Hamel. “We want to support and consolidate Sabrina’s installation and help her as best we can. »

Thus, the Bernières municipal council proposed a cash flow assistance for 6 months, validated at the last council, Monday September 23.

We feel that the interests of the people and the community have been taken into account by Astrid and Sabrina.

The business reopened on Friday September 27, 2024 from 8 a.m. with a new name: the Bernièroise. “I looked for a name related to the town,” concludes Sabrina with a big smile.
