“I love gold, I love diamonds,” Donald Trump declares in the promotional video for the latest item he is putting on sale Thursday: a luxury watch bearing his name. With a bracelet and a case made of 200 grams of solid 18-carat gold and 122 diamonds distributed on the lugs and the bezel, this watch is “truly special,” assures the Republican candidate.
The dial, also gold and displaying the word “Trump”, reveals a tourbillon movement. This model is the subject of a limited series of 147 copies, each piece being numbered. The septuagenarian logically awarded himself watch no. 1.
For the occasion, Donald Trump is breaking his principle of “America first” for the manufacturing industry, since these watches are made in Switzerland.
Each buyer, after paying $100,000, will also receive a personal letter signed by the former president, who declares: “It’s Trump time!” Less fortunate supporters of the billionaire can fall back on another model, in gold plated, at $799 each. In addition to fundraising and calls for donations, the Republican finances his presidential campaign by selling various items, including sneakers at $299 per pair and even… Bibles.
