A morning of demonstrations this Friday, September 27, in eight stations in and Pas-de-Calais. The CGT is organizing a mobilization in Calais, Douai, Dunkirk, Arras, Béthune, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Lens and Valenciennes, from 8 a.m. or 9 a.m., depending on the site.

The unions are demanding a better quality public service and in this case the opening of counters in these stations.

Negotiations in progress

In 2018, stations were open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a double counter and therefore a human presence for users. In 2021, hours were reduced from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Two years later, in October 2023, the Hauts-de- region decided to inject nearly 3.3 million euros for the reopening of these counters from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., the eight stations being brought back under the jurisdiction TER/Region.

Good news, but the railway unions want assurances on the double window morning and evening. Negotiations have been underway for a month and a half on this subject with management. For the moment, it is only a question of one-stop shopping.

The CGT plans to file a strike notice on October 7.
