A 49-year-old man was shot dead on the night of Friday 20 to Saturday 21 September 2024 in Tremblay-en-France (Seine-Saint-Denis), the Bobigny prosecutor’s office said this weekend. The victim was killed after returning from a wedding with his partner and their three children, around 3am. The perpetrator(s) of the shooting fled.
The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into murder, and the investigations have been entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police.
Man shot through door in front of loved ones
According to initial findings of the investigation, the victim returned from a wedding with his family around 3 a.m. As they were returning to their house, the forty-year-old turned around to go and get some things he had forgotten in the car.
Moments later, he reportedly ran back in, yelling at his wife to call the police and trying to lock himself in the house. That’s when several gunshots were reportedly heard.
According to the daily newspaper The Parisianthe killers reportedly rang the doorbell and fired several shots. The 49-year-old man was reportedly hit through the door as he tried to close it by a bullet that lodged in his temple.
Shooters on the run, actively sought
Despite the arrival of the police, who provided first aid, then emergency services, the forty-year-old was declared dead less than an hour after the incident.
Cases were reportedly found both outside and inside the pavilion, the official said. The Figaro, who, citing a police source, indicates that two cartridges which could correspond to a 9 mm caliber weapon were also found.
The perpetrator(s) of the shooting immediately fled. As of Saturday, no suspects had yet been arrested.
According to a source close to the case quoted by The ParisianThe motive for the crime remains unknown at this time, but according to initial findings of the investigation, it is possible that the victim was awaited by the shooter(s) near his home. “There is no reason to speak of a settling of scores. The motive for this assassination is for the moment totally mysterious, indicates this source. Hence the seizure of the criminal brigade. All leads are worth exploring. But it is more than likely that the victim was expected.”
