AS Villers finds itself confronted with the harsh reality of the promoted team, that of staying up. Yesterday, the heavy defeat against Balagne (5-2) allowed the Côte Fleurie club not to forget that the objective set will be hard to achieve. Held in check last week against Thionville (1-1), Villers was keen to get a result to try to move away from the red zone. In Corsica, the Normandy defense took on water again, having conceded five goals (5-2).

After a balanced start, the Balanins planted the first flag. Starting off in a solo act, Sarr forced Boisroux into a fine save at the near post (12′). On this good run, the Corsicans continued and obtained a penalty, following a foul on the same Sarr, who was brought down in the middle of the area. Gannoun converted with a precise flat foot (1-0, 20′).
4 points out of 18 for ASVH
FCB quickly doubled the lead, with Odzoumo breaking through on the right side and passing to Charlier, who opened his foot to clear the top corner of Boisroux’s goal (2-0, 24′). The Norman goalkeeper had to stop another attempt by Gannoun. The Normans were suffering, but Lemaitre forced Guerin to pull out all the stops on a well-executed counterattack. A first warning for the locals, who were loosening their grip. In the 35′, on a corner from Lemaitre, Ould Jawar took off in the heart of a waiting Balanine defence, and reduced the gap with a nice header (2-1).
After the break, Sarr distinguished himself again with a fine strike. On the next move, Chevalier, well-placed at the far post, adjusted his sights poorly. On the other side, Guerin remained vigilant on a well-curled free kick from Lemaitre. Then on a cross from Michel, Perian uncrossed his header, which went narrowly wide.
The pace remained high, Gannoun, who had set off on a solitary raid, saw his attempt fail to the right of the post. In the 63rd minute, on a cross to the far post from Chevalier, Hauguel passed it straight to Odzoumo, who controlled it and connected with a victorious recovery (3-1). With FCB regaining a more comfortable lead, the Normans tried to resurface on attempts from Konté and Gaudiche, without danger for Guerin.
Well positioned, Balagne controlled his subject, Odzoumo took advantage to offer himself a double and intensified the score (4-1, 82′). Charlier, with a header, imitated his partner at the very end of the match (5-1, 89′), then Konte reduced the score in stoppage time (5-2, 90’+ 1).
ASVH has four points from a possible 18 after six games. The record (1 win, 1 draw, 4 losses) is in line with what one would expect.
