Another millionaire win in the Swiss Loto draw

Lausanne found its master on the 3rd day of the National League. The LHC was beaten 4-2 by Lugano, while Geneva and Fribourg lost in extra time (3-2 and 2-1).

Oksanen’s 1-0 in the 2nd minute certainly acted as a deception. Because even if the Lions started this match well, the fact of facing a team that played on Thursday and not Friday did not help the Vaudois. They often seemed to be one step behind their opponents, especially during the middle third until halfway through the match. Geoff Ward’s players then woke up to put pressure on van Pottelberghe’s goal.

Lugano made Lausanne pay for their mistakes. Already in the 16th minute, Verboon equalized and beat Pasche by digging around the goal. And then in the 45th minute, 45 seconds after Carr’s 1-2, Jason Fuchs offered the puck to Michael Joly who didn’t miss the target. Former LHC forward Jiri Sekac scored the 1-4, before Suomela managed to reduce the score at the very end of the match.

Geneva naive in extra time

In its away game, Geneva had to go to Davos. And even though they lost 3-2 after, the Eagles brought something back from Grisons. And above all, after two thirds, they were leading 2-1 (thanks to Vatanen and Praplan) while Grisons had shot 28 times on goal against ten small shots on the garnet side.

But this luck did not last and in the 53rd, Zadina was able to equalize. The extra time was not very long since after 22 seconds, Honka was able to offer the second point to his colors. The former Bern and Geneva full-back had too much space to go and beat Robert Mayer.

Berra hesitant

If the end result is the same for Fribourg with a 2-1 defeat after the match against Rapperswil, the scenario of the match and the extra time was different. On a power-play, Marcus Sörensen was able to capitalize on a strong moment from Gottéron who shot more than his opponent.

But in the 52nd minute, St. Gallen leveled the score in a rather curious way. Defenseman Fabian Maier sent a puck that looked pretty safe, but Reto Berra was unable to catch the puck that flew behind his goal line. And in overtime, it was with 20 seconds left that Holm was able to get Rappi’s second point.

Bienne launched

For Bienne, hosting Ajoie was not supposed to be a banana skin match between two teams with zero points after two games. Martin Filander’s men did what was necessary by winning 4-1.

After an average first third, the Seelandais stepped on the accelerator at the start of the middle period. In 30 seconds in the 22nd, Andersson on a power play and Rajala left free to move in the Jura defense zone were able to increase the score from 0-0 to 2-0. Ajoie once again showed its limits by letting Rajala do what he wanted. The only bright spot for Ajoie was Marco Pedretti who scored again.

Facing Langnau, Zug did not let the Emmentalois believe it after their success the day before against Fribourg. Zug won 6-2. Zurich went to win 3-2 on penalties in Berne by making a clean sweep on penalties (3-0). In the last match, Ambri beat Kloten 3-2 on penalties.
