Trendy Parisian Coffee Shops to Stop at During Fashion Week

The Matcha pop-up at Café Kitsuné

A pioneer in the world of matcha in Paris, Café Kitsuné is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. For the occasion, the Japanese brand is transforming its coffee shop on rue Vertbois for a pop-up dedicated to matcha, to be enjoyed in all its forms (or almost). As a nod to its dual Franco-Japanese culture, the café takes on the appearance of a Japanese tea house where superimposed norens and kakemonos rub shoulders with straw mat tatamis and traditional furniture. The menu offers a whole range of matcha drinks including one with strawberry, another with rose or coconut as well as several revisited desserts.

  • From September 6 to October 6, 2024, 30 Rue du Vertbois, 75003 Paris

Lactem

Inspired by ultra-cocooning Anglo-Saxon cafés, Lactem has wisely set up shop just a stone’s throw from Place des Victoires to delight us with its specialty drinks and carefully prepared homemade pastries. The coffee is high quality, roasted in Paris by Brûlerie de Belleville and Feve. The matcha drinks are also excellent. Special mention for the particularly successful strawberry matcha latte. A large part of the offer is gluten-free, very lightly sweetened with several vegan options. Everything we love.

Coffee Nuances

Without a doubt one of the fashion world’s favorite cafes. With its three addresses all over Paris, which stand out for their designer and cutting-edge decor, designed by the Uchronia studio, Nuances not only makes beautiful things, but also very good ones. Specialty coffee with ethically sourced beans, graded matcha, well-dosed chai, can be enjoyed in a very classic way or through more original signature recipes, with rose, peanut butter, popcorn or chestnut honey for example.

Shin Cafe

Long-time friends and collaborators, chef Julien Sebbag and pastry chef Shin Eun Jung decided to join forces to open Café Shin, a place that shakes up the codes of traditional coffee shops by drawing inspiration from the modern and original concepts of Shin’s home country, South Korea. Designed by the Uchronia studio, the decor is reminiscent of South Korean cafés, with an open kitchen in the shape of a Hanok (traditional Korean houses). The range of drinks and treats is mainly inspired by Asia, with, for example, a heukimja latte (with black sesame) or an iced goguma latte (with purple sweet potato).

  • 47 rue des Petites Ecuries, Paris 10

Dreamin Man Roastery

Dreamin Man’ is getting a third location and is taking up residence this time in the heart of Paris. Rue Coquillière has been home to their new address since this summer, which seduces with its raw, minimalist and natural aesthetic with exposed bricks, tree stumps as tables, fake faded paintings… But also very good drinks and pastries. In addition to their excellent coffee, we recommend you try their delicious hojicha latte to accompany homemade scones served with butter and jam.

  • 31 Rue Coquillière, 75001 Paris

Saint Pearl Wilson

In the 16th arrondissement, cool coffee shops are few and far between. Fortunately, Saint Pearl has just opened its second location there, right next to the Palais de Tokyo. Practical when you consider that the museum is often the scene of many fashion shows during Fashion Week. As in their first very popular café in the 7th arrondissement, it is always about reinvented brunch classics and expertly made drinks. We come here to bite into delicious Japanese sandos (savory and sweet), while sipping a strawberry matcha latte served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream directly in the glass. Rumor has it that the affogato there is also divine.

  • 1 Avenue du Président Wilson, 75116 Paris

Partisan

At Partisan, it’s Fashion Week every day, the café established on rue de Turbigo for several years, has become a real landmark for fashionistas and lovers of good coffee, who gather on the benches installed outside to strike a pose or chat, latte in one hand and banana bread of the highest quality in the other. The Brooklyn-style place is not only cool, it also serves one of the best coffees in Paris roasted on site.

  • 36 R. de Turbigo, 75003 Paris

Severe

Micro-café, but maxi-pleasure. That’s how we could sum up the Grave experience. Freshly arrived on the rue des Gravilliers, this pocket coffee shop with a garnet frontage is always full. It has gone viral in particular thanks to its soft-serve ice creams whose flavors change often: charcoal, matcha, kefir… You can also find all the most essential drinks there as well as pastries to die for.

  • 34 Rue des Gravilliers, 75003 Paris

Sevenly Heart

Attention all lovers of flirtatious-romantic aesthetics! In the heart of the Marais, the Sevenly Heart café seems to have come straight out of a Pinterest board. Vintage decor, lace tablecloths, elegant floral arrangements… Aesthetic heaven with the added bonus of original, well-made drinks and pastries. In the evening, the place transforms into a wine and tapas bar.

  • 55 Rue des Archives, 75003 Paris

Benchy

On the left bank, not far from Bon Marché and Lutetia, you absolutely have to stop at Benchy and sit at the counter by the window to order a latte or a matcha, but especially one of their super sandos (notably the tuna and its deluge of grated cheddar) or to taste their pastries like the strawberry shortcake which is as beautiful as it is delicious.

  • 50 Rue du Cherche-Midi, 75006 Paris

Hello Jacob

A favorite haunt of the fashion crowd, Bonjour Jacob reinvents the concept of literary cafés with a modern and eclectic venue, located not far from Place de la République. At once a bookstore, concept store and coffee shop, the venue offers a sharp selection of magazines, beautiful books and vinyls to choose from during a gourmet coffee break at any time of the day.

  • 28 Rue Yves Toudic, 75010 Paris

Wave

Vague is the new coffee shop that is making waves in the heart of Batignolles… but also excellent “comfort drinks” (black latte, golden latte and chai latte), in addition to all the classics based on high-quality coffee or matcha. We also enjoy egg toasties that defy the laws of gluttony.

  • 76 Rue Boursault, 75017 Paris

Maurice Cafe

A victim of its own success, you have to be patient to taste the Liège waffles, honey butter toast and freddo cappuccino at Maurice Café, the trendy coffee shop owned by Moise Sfez (Homer Lobster, Janet). But it’s definitely worth the wait.
