PScheduled for Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, the 41st edition of the European Heritage Days will include several highlights in the towns of Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.

Saturday and Sunday at 3pm, a conference will focus on the Legendary Tales of the Giffre Valley. This talk will be led by ethnologist Alice Joisten and linguist Dominique Abry-Deffayet. The life and work of Pierre-Marie Moccand

Teacher-researcher Baptiste Brun will discuss the life and work of Pierre-Marie Moccand (1869-1942) aka Pierre au Merle. An original artist, this atypical Sizeret was a precursor of tourist activity. He is notably responsible for the wooden carousel exhibited on the bank of the small pond located below the town hall. The exhibition Once upon a time… in Sixt will be on display at the old abbey on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Finally, as part of the operation Faites parler vos greniers (Make your attics speak), this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (at the Reine des Alpes), residents are invited to lend their archives concerning the history of the village. Once digitized, the documents will be returned to their owners.
