A municipal police officer was hit by a car that was trying to flee this Wednesday, September 18 in Chesnay, in the Yvelines. An investigation has been opened.
A 53-year-old municipal police officer was knocked down by a fleeing vehicle in the commune of Chesnay, in the Yvelines, this Wednesday afternoon, September 18, BFMTV learned from concordant sources.
A suspect has already been arrested in Paris, BFMTV has learned. An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the Versailles police station.
A refusal to comply
According to a source close to the investigation, the suspect was fleeing following an identity check. The car restarted and a chase then began. A municipal police vehicle then opposed it. The police officer was then knocked down.
The latter was injured, but did not lose consciousness. Taken into care as a relative emergency, he is still under observation at the hospital.
The first elements of the investigation, which will have to be confirmed, indicate that the suspect’s car is a stolen rental vehicle.
