A fire engulfs 300m² of a warehouse in Montauroux, around sixty firefighters mobilized

Firefighters have been on site since midnight on Thursday, September 12. They managed to keep the fire in its original location and prevent the entire 1,000 m2 site from catching fire.

Var firefighters have been fighting a warehouse fire in Montauroux for several hours on Thursday, September 12. They intervened shortly after midnight and managed to contain the fire in its original location around 3 a.m.

“Currently, out of the 1000 m² of the entire surface area of ​​the building, only 300 m² are affected by the fire,” the emergency services stated in their latest situation report. They “have also managed to protect the surrounding buildings from spreading.”

However, the operation is not over and all the resources committed remain mobilized.

Emergency services intervened quickly and in large numbers to prevent the fire from spreading, due to the westerly wind. Especially since the affected area includes tires and vehicles, a fuel that is conducive to the spread of fire.

Help from the Alpes-Maritimes

Significant resources were deployed to the scene, including five fire-fighting vehicles, including one from the Alpes-Maritimes fire brigade, and two aerial rescue ladders.

In total, 57 firefighters are on site, including 11 firefighters from the Maralpins. Enedis and the national gendarmerie are also on the scene of the fire, located on the Route de Grasse.
