In one year, Philippe Poussier straightens out the accounts of the 4th largest French geriatric group… and leaves

Arriving in October 2023, Philippe Poussier left his position as director of Ep’Age 36 (1) on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. A look back at his express stint at the head of the giant geriatric group in Indre, the fourth largest in .

Why leave less than a year after your arrival?

“It’s simple, I’m a director, but I’m also a man, a father, a grandfather. I had planned for my wife to join me here, but it didn’t happen. So I’m returning to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to be closer to my family and work in the largest nursing home in the region, near Saint-Étienne. That said, I’ve had a wonderful year here.”

What do you remember from your time at Ep’Age 36?

“I met professionals of high quality, very committed. The establishment has recovered well and continued to move forward, particularly with the recent inauguration of the new Ehpad in Déols and the launch of a unique apprenticeship class to train nursing assistants at the Charmilles high school in Châteauroux. We have also submitted applications to specialize services in Levroux and Valençay, and I am hopeful that this will come to fruition. On the CDGI side, two new health units are currently being created.”

Your mandate was also marked by the elimination of RTT, which triggered a strike in December 2023…

“That’s true, but by giving up their five RTTs, all the professionals at Ep’Age 36 will have contributed to redeploying 24 additional positions across the entire group. That’s huge and it was necessary to get the finances back on track. In 2024, we have scheduled around 11,000 additional days of accommodation compared to the previous year and reduced the deficit by 70% in one year. This is a rare achievement for a public establishment of this size.”
