Launched in September 2023, the first phase of work in the city center of Annemasse is complete. The second phase will continue until the end of 2025.
The city center of Annemasse has begun its transformation. The first phase of pedestrianization launched in September 2023 in the central part of the city has been completed, reports actu Haute-Savoie. The sectors concerned by this transformation are Place Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Rue des Vétérans. The objective is to “making public spaces more user-friendly and attractive for residents and visitors”explains the town hall. More than a hundred trees will also be planted.
Regarding vehicle access, access terminals will be installed. They will open thanks to the automated reading of license plates. For residents living in the city center, it will therefore be necessary to take the necessary steps at the town hall. “Residents who have not taken steps at the town hall to provide their registration plate number and collect a sticker will no longer be able to enter the pedestrian zone outside of delivery hours”warns the community again.
The second phase of the city centre works has already started and is due to continue until the end of 2025.
