Every year, the European Heritage Days offer a unique opportunity to delve into the history and culture of the French regions. For the 2024 edition, the date is set for this weekend September 21 and 22Vaucluse reveals its secrets to you and invites you to discover its rich heritage.

The Departmental Hotel: an immersion behind the political scenes

In the heart of , the Hôtel du Département, listed as a Historic Monument, welcomes you for a rare immersion into the workings of local politics. Discover its hemicycle, usually closed to the public, and enjoy guided tours to explore the history of this imposing building. The tours, organized on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, will offer you a unique insight into this space where Vaucluse elected officials meet.

Practical information: visits at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Reservations recommended at 04 32 40 79 88.

The Departmental Archives at the Palais des Papes: a last chance not to be missed

This is the last chance to visit thes Departmental archives within the legendary Palais des Papesbefore their move to Memento. On the program: a thrilling escape game on Friday evening, but also guided and free tours on Saturday and Sunday. You will be able to explore original documents, some dating back to the Middle Ages, and relive the history of this emblematic place before it changes setting.

Valréas: nostalgia for children’s advertising

Souvenir lovers, don’t miss the Children of Advertising exhibition! at the Musée du Cartonnage et de l’Imprimerie in Valréas. You will find familiar faces from the ads of your childhood, from Menier chocolate to LU biscuits, while exploring the evolution of advertising messages aimed at children. A visit that combines nostalgia and reflection on the practices of yesteryear.
