Oyster shells are given a second life in Sète

THE September 21 and 22, 2024the city of Sète will come alive to the rhythm of Oyster Daysan event organized by the Mediterranean Regional Shellfish Committee (CRCM). For the third consecutive year, this event will take place on the Victor Hugo Square and will showcase the marine flavors of the Mediterranean and the excellence of local products through tastings, demonstrations and festive entertainment.

What to do with oyster shells after eating them? Well, Sète agglopôle méditerranée gives the answer on its stand and invites visitors to discover the crushed shellsa natural and local material for recycling oyster shells. This crushed material is ideal for the mulching plants and for the landscaping. At this stand, visitors will be able to discover different types of shredded materials and practical demonstrations of their use.

THE Saturday September 21of 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.visitors will be able to leave with a free sample of oyster mulch.
