Heavy rain is expected to hit Haute-Corse, starting at 9 p.m. this Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Météo France has just placed this department on orange alert for “rain-flooding” and “storms” starting this evening. The alert is valid for 24 hours and should therefore end on Wednesday evening.
Up to 150 mm locally
In its bulletin, the meteorological agency mentions “a rainy-stormy deterioration which will affect the Mediterranean regions”, in particular Haute-Corse “where the rains will continue on Wednesday”. These rains will take “a stormy character in the evening” And “20 to 30 mm per hour are expected” in places.
The expected cumulative totals for the episode are “of the order of 80 to 100 mm generalized, with up to 150 mm locally or even a little more”, specifies Météo France. Southern Corsica remains on yellow alert, as do Bouches-du-Rhône, Var, Alpes-Maritimes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Vaucluse. Ain is on yellow alert for “wind”.
