In his commune of , a 31-year-old man was killed Saturday evening by Kalashnikov shots. Franck Longo wants to put pressure on the traffickers, even if it means going to a showdown.

30 more cameras, armed police

Franck Longo will increase video surveillance in his town in the coming weeks and wants to strengthen his police force: “For several weeks now, in the Grenoble metropolitan area, we have been experiencing almost daily incidents of delinquency and serious banditry which sometimes lead to the murder of innocent people like this Grenoble city officer. We wonder what kind of world we live in. I am very angry. Beyond anger, I have decided to install 30 additional cameras in the coming weeks. I want my police officers to have the maximum amount of weapons. They already have guns, shields and helmets recently purchased. New vehicles too. As mayor, I have a duty to protect my agents.”

“We will propose additional positions in the municipal police service in the next budget. but a mayor alone cannot do it. We need additional staff, we need the support of justice. We must be as firm as possible in the sentences we give to these people who are ruining our neighborhoods. We will provide all the necessary means because it is completely unbearable for us.”adds the mayor.

“Drive them out, willingly or by force”

Franck Longo goes further. He wants to get in touch with those who, according to him, are “ruining” the lives of the inhabitants of Fontaine. “Traffickers have no place at the bottom of our buildings and in our parks. We have to go further, even if it means having police officers, elected officials and residents who are there every day, every week, every month. We have to chase them away and tell them that you are no longer welcome. I think we need to go to the confrontation. We have no choice, we can no longer let this happen. They are the ones who are in our home. I appeal to the residents, the shopkeepers and the government services. We must say stop and throw them out. The message is clear, it is how In the coming days we will go down to the drug dealing points and make each person leave, willingly or by force.”
