The Alençon Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to determine “the causes of death” of this forty-year-old who was participating in a hunting trip in Ferrières-la-Verrerie (Orne), Wednesday December 27, 2023.

On the day of the tragedy, a hunting company from the Normandy department organized a wild boar hunt at a place called Le Bois de Cohardon. The victim, a 44-year-old farmer, wore the hat of a beater: he had to group and redirect the game, in this case wild boars, towards his fellow hunters.
An open investigation
Still according to the local newspaper, a bullet then hit the forty-year-old farmer, resident of Sainte-Gauburge, around 4:30 p.m. The tout died on the spot. After going to the scene of the fatal accident with criminal identification technicians, the Alençon public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and entrusted it to the gendarmes of the Argentan research brigade.
