A man was injured last night after putting his head on the Jet d’eau nozzle, we learn our colleagues from “20 minutes”. It was around 8:00 p.m. when a man in his twenties broke through the Jet d’eau’s security barrier and put his head on the nozzle. He was then thrown violently backwards.

After coming to his senses, the young man tried to hang on to the jet. A gesture which earned him to be propelled several meters high before falling on the slab. He was able to be rescued by the navigation brigade and taken by ambulance to the hospital. We do not know his current state of health.

The SIG have indicated that they will file a complaint for trespassing. Crossing the Jet d’eau safety barrier is strictly prohibited. Water is propelled through it at a speed of 200 km/h, which is equivalent to 500 liters per second.
