The Montreal Jazz Festival is adding to its 2023 edition. The great Macy Gray will be back in Montreal for a free outdoor concert on Saturday, July 8!

Already, the FIJM had confirmed several weeks ago that Thundercat, Badbadnotgood, Tank and the Bangas, Vance Joy and Jean-Michel Blais would perform for free on the Place des Festivals during major events, which will certainly be popular.

Macy Gray is added to this prestigious list, with nothing less than the closing concert of the festival.

The neo-soul singer achieved immense success at the turn of the millennium with her song I Tryand the album it is on, On How Life Isreleased in 1999 and sold more than 3 million copies.

What’s more, the prodigious duo Domi & JD Beck, who will already be opening for the great Herbie Hancock indoors, will also give a great free outdoor show on the Place des Festivals on Tuesday July 4 at 9:30 p.m.

We also learn that JD McPherson will open for Robert Plant & Alison Krauss on Friday, July 7 at Place des Arts, and that, as expected, Christine and the Queens is adding an extra to his show presented at MTELUS. This one will slightly overflow the frames of the festival since it will be held on Sunday July 9th.
