The legendary Tina Turner disappeared on May 24, at her home in Küsnacht, on the shores of Lake Zurich. She moved to Switzerland in 1994 and left a very positive image with her neighbours. Indeed, according to locals interviewed by the “Daily Mail”, the star was someone “modest, polite and friendly”. Despite having a whole team in her care, she drove her own car, a Porsche , and often spent time sitting in the park on the shores of Lake Zurich, observing the horizon.

At the same time, the interpreter of “Simply The Best” also enjoyed walking around town to window shop, buy designer clothes and eat in gourmet restaurants. “Tina Turner sometimes came into town to do the shopping. She had a butler but she liked to go there herself, with her husband Erwin (editor’s note: Bach, whom she married in 2013). They particularly appreciated the Moreira Gourmet House. This is the best place in the region to buy smoked salmon and white truffles. That’s what they bought there, ”explains the neighborhood butcher, Benny Lang.

Yoga in the park

A calm and peaceful life that she led for almost thirty years after following her husband who had just obtained a job at the head of the Swiss offices of EMI Music. From then on, the one who died of natural death radically changed her life. Becoming more and more discreet in the media, she chooses to indulge in a quieter daily life. “When she came to live here, she started yoga. She even took classes given in the park,” reveals one of her neighbors before adding: “She also liked going to the park and sitting by the water. It is a very peaceful place. She said, “Gruezi!” How we say hello in Swiss German, to people walking their dogs. She was very friendly.”

For Tina Turner, this city was the dream place. “Rich people live their lives in peace here. We leave them alone and let them be who they want to be. That’s why they come to live here, ”says a resident of Küsnacht.
