It is the story of a rebirth. After the resumption of Cycleurope, manufacturer of the Gypsy bikes and Peugeot, and its site in Romilly-sur-Seine (Aube), the Rebirth group (25 million turnover, 43 employees) detailed its strategy. This requires a name change: Cycleurope becomes Re-Cycles France.
Rebirth brings a new customer, the Belgian start-up Cowboy, to boost the volumes of the factory. He will have to deliver 14,000 to 18,000 electric assistance bikes per year. To support this growth, the group has equipped the site with a wheeler line and two assembly lines are expected in the first half, for 1 million euros.
But the biggest investment to come concerns the construction of a much more modern factory, close to the current one, with an area of 25,000 m2 and which will require funding of around 15 million euros. By adding the production of the Saint-Lô site (Manche), Rebirth aims 2,000,000 bikes per year. What capture 10 to 12% of total annual sales in France.
