Team Canada presented by IGA is back in Montreal for a second consecutive year. This time, she will face Hungary, on February 1 and 2, at the IGA stadium, as part of the first qualifying round.
The meeting will take place at the best of five games, and each match will be played at the best of three rounds. The winning country will access the second round of the Davis Cup qualifications in September.
Last year, at its first meeting at home in the past five years, Canada got the better of the Republic of Korea by the brand from 3 to 1, in Montreal. He had qualified for the tournament around the finals.

Teams
Four of the five players who represented Canada a year ago are back in Montreal this year: Gabriel Diallo, Alexis Galarneau, Liam Draxl and Vasek Pospisil. Denis Shapovalov joins his compatriots for the first qualifying round. Captain Frank Dancevic will be at the helm of the team.
In 2024, Diallo, Galarneau and Pospisil was part of the Canadian team at all stages of the Davis Cup. Shapovalov defended the colors of Canada in the finals, both in the round tournament and in the quarterfinals.

The Hungarian team stands on the road to Canada. The Hungarians are counting on the services of Fabian Maroszan (59e) et de Marton Fuchsovich (99e). Peter breed (527e), Mate Valkus (633e) Et Adam Jilly (1421e ) join the two players in the top 100. Hungary is led by Captain Kornel Bardoczky.

For the second time in three years in Malaga, Canada faced Germany in the quarter -final of the Davis Cup. Shapovalov, Diallo, Galarneau, Pospisil and Milos Raonic represented Canada, although only Shapovalov and Diallo were sent to the action.
