Tuesday January 21, around 5:30 p.m., a 38-year-old motorist was driving on the road to Morat, from Courtepin towards Courlevon (FR). At the junction towards Wallenried, she suddenly veered into the other lane and collided head-on with an oncoming passenger car, driven by a 63-year-old woman. Both drivers were injured and taken by ambulance to hospital. The road was neutralized due to an oil leak and repaired by the Friborg firefighters.
But shortly after 7 p.m., a 46-year-old motorist was traveling on the same Morat road, but in the other direction, from Courlevon towards Courtepin. For reasons still unknown, he veered into the opposite lane and collided with a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. The driver of the latter, aged 28, had to be extricated from the passenger compartment of his vehicle by the Morat firefighters.
The section of road was again closed for three hours for rescue operations and traffic was diverted via Cressier. Both drivers were taken by ambulance to hospital.
