Vitamin D is necessary to ensure the good health of our bones, our muscles and to strengthen our immune system. It is essentially synthesized when our skin is exposed to sunlight. Bad luck for us: every winter, two out of three Swiss people (60%) suffer from a vitamin D deficiency due to lack of sunshine. The OFSP recommends that adults ensure, especially in winter, that they have a sufficient intake of vitamin D by consuming foods rich in vitamin D, such as salmon and eggs.
