Two men were tried immediately by the Périgueux criminal court on Tuesday January 21, after being arrested three days earlier while trying to steal from a home in Périgord Vert.
Saturday January 18, two men aged 44 and 50 went to a house located in Périgord Vert, which they knew had been uninhabited for several months. Once there, they cut the gate with bolt cutters, broke into a shed and a garage, before entering the house through a French window. This intrusion then triggered the silent alarm and the surveillance company notified the gendarmerie, who immediately went to the site and came upon the two individuals, who were arrested and placed in police custody.
Tuesday, January 21, they were tried in immediate appearance by the Périgueux criminal court for attempted break-in. The younger of the two indicated that he had monitored the house for several months “to steal or squat”. The second was homeless and was hosted by the first, but confirms that he was not forced to follow him. Finally, the forty-year-old, who is a repeat offender and unfavorably known to the courts, was sentenced to six months in prison with continued detention, while his sidekick was sentenced to two months in prison with a simple suspended sentence.
