This Monday, around 6:20 p.m., a fire broke out in two garages of a building on Place de l'Eglise, in Raucoules.
The fire, which apparently started from the basement, did not attack the rest of the homes but significant smoke quickly spread upstairs. One of the two vehicles parked inside was destroyed.
When firefighters arrived, a 25-year-old man managed to escape the building alone. According to initial information, the latter was seriously burned.
Taken care of by emergency services, he was transported by land to the emergency room of the Edouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon.
Woman taken from building through window
The use of the large ladder was necessary to extract a woman, aged around thirty, trapped on the second floor of the building, through the window. It seems that she is not injured.
The firefighters had to face an obstacle: the presence of three gas bottles in the garages.
-An open investigation
Fortunately the fire was quickly brought under control by the 23 firefighters dispatched to the scene. Reconnaissances were carried out.
The mayor of the town, Bernard Souvignet, went to the bedside of the tenants, who were watching, stunned, the spectacle from the Place de l'Eglise.
The gendarmerie investigation will have to determine the origin of the disaster.
