Finding your voice and your way. This is the common thread of the 34th Tales and Meetings Festival which will take place from February 8 to 22. This year the program is even richer than in 2024 with 34 performances spread throughout the territory and 15 artists welcomed coming from different backgrounds. An anthology of proposals that we owe to the collective of volunteers and employees who put together the programming.

Olaya Alvarez is part of the Federation of Rural Homes:

“We go to various festivals to see the shows, because we try to program as many shows as possible that we have seen, and we know that they will please our audience, knowing that the Lozère territory is very diverse and varied. So when we see a show, we know exactly where it is that he can pass or is this what he can't passer. We also adapt a little to our rural homes and their audience. Without them, it would be impossible to put on a festival of this scale. They help us to ensure that there is a bit of this magic at the end of the show in particular. The storytellers also become attached to the volunteers who welcome them.”

They will come from Aveyron, or even Belgium to share their stories. These fifteen artists will play their show in the four corners of Lozère… whatever their style.

Gilles Voinier is co-president of the Festival.

In the art of storytelling, we have lots of thingsthere are traditional tales that are told in a traditional way, but there are also some that are revisited. You have of the lots of versions of Snow White or Sleeping Beauty, but you also have of new storytellers who make their show based on what is happening around them. They react to events and create original shows, which still remain the art of storytelling. There are artists who have tales in their repertoire, but who also know how to liven up an evening, like a stand-up.upper.

The festival will take place from February 8 to 22. Last year more than 3,000 spectators attended the performances, which were often sold out. Don't delay in reserving your places. Find the entire program here.
