The multipurpose room d’Essayin Orne, brought together around fifty residents, Friday January 10, for the ceremony of Pascale Leroy's wishes. The opportunity for the mayor to present the projects for 2025.
Among them, the transformation of the presbytery in a intergenerational space innovative, combining adapted housing and meeting spaces, aims to be an example of social cohesion. The building has been unoccupied since the priest left in the 2000s.
School square transformed
Another important subject: redevelopment of the school square. Designed as a central gathering place, the site will integrate green areas and modern amenities to meet the expectations of residents, associated with the construction of the project.
Other eco-responsible initiatives, such as creation of collective composting and the planting of hedgerowsillustrate the ecological commitment of the municipality.
-During the ceremony, Pascale Leroy also looked back on the highlights of 2024. Obtaining the “Village of the Future” label highlighted Essay’s potential in terms of local and sustainable development. The renovation work at Besogne Park was awarded a national prize.
The installation of photovoltaic lights, the beautification of public spaces such as the cemetery paths and the improvement of digital infrastructure also marked the year. The provision of a technical agent by the Community of Communes of Sources de l'Orne who, moreover, integrates the workforce of volunteer firefighters, also played a key role in accelerating municipal projects.
Christophe de Balorre, president of the Departmental Council, expressed his admiration for the initiatives carried out by the municipality of Essay: “You demonstrate that a rural municipality can be both ambitious and close to its inhabitants. »
